The Big Bro Joe Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization in the Tri-Cities, Washington, that seeks to offer young males positive role models that can assist with a helping hand, inspiration, guidance, and motivation while establishing healthy relationships with adult male mentors. We will accomplish this goal by facilitating mentor relationships, activities and programs, sports and team-building activities, and introductions to educational and personal development resources. Our goal is to equip young men throughout the communities with the mental, emotional, physical, and educational tools needed to become well-adjusted, productive members of society.
The Big Bro Joe Foundation was founded by Joe Thornton, owner of Total Impact Training and Sports Performance, LLC. Joe grew up in a single-parent household with four older siblings in Atlanta, GA. Growing up, Joe had his grandpa, his high school coaches, the fathers’ of his peers, and other male mentors who saw his potential long before he ever did. These men were Joe’s mentors, his “Big Bros,” that encouraged him, held him accountable, challenged him to create a bright future for himself, and ultimately changed Joe’s life forever.
Joe is a University of Tennessee-Chattanooga College graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and minor in Psychology. After college, Joe played two years of arena football with the Tri-Cities Fever football team. While playing with The Fever, he was actively involved in volunteering with local schools around the Tri-Cities area. Two years later, Joe signed to play professional football in Canada with the Montreal Alouettes. Joe now calls Tri-Cities his home. He is a father, a local business owner, actively volunteers, and always involved with numerous organizations and events, throughout the Tri-Cities communities.
